Wow!  What a blast this Saturday was.
Mad props go out to Chris Simko at WMKP radio, all the staff on hand at Penn State Mckeesport , and everybody that helped out with organizing the WMKP 2006 Battle of the Bands.
You guys really know how to make a person feel like a rockstar.  That was probably the most professionally organized events that I've ever been a part of.
Right from the start you guys were on the ball.  From the people directing traffic outside to the people who helped all the bands carry in their equipment.
Great setup of the two stages and good attention to the set time limit.
I'd have to say this event was put together and executed better Ozzfest.

All the bands playing that evening were excellent.
Much respect goes out to the singer of Black Market Body Parts, who tore A.C.L. and kept going through the entire set!
If that isn't metal then I don't know what is.

Whaddup party people!
Is everyone ready for a long overdue news update?
Well, it's been almost a month and the main question that everyone has still been asking us is:
"How was Ozzfest?”
To sum it up in a few words…Pretty bad ass!
Playing the Post Gazette Pavilion was totally amazing.  Just to be able to perform on a stage that size, with all that equipment and killer sound was mind blowing.
Getting up that early in the morning on the other hand....that wasn't so great.
But it was all definitely worth it.  We had a chance to meet a lot of the other bands and network with a lot of cool people.
Mostly everyone there (with the exception of one person who will go nameless) was totally down to earth.

Being able to share the same stage with Ozzy Osbourne is a once in a lifetime opportunity that we will always cherish.
And we will always be thankful to each and every one of you who helped us get to that moment.
I’m sure your tired of hearing it by now but…Thank you ...
Thank you to everyone of you that voted your asses off and was responsible for helping us attain the 40,000+ votes we had out of the 85,000 total.
(Wow, that's still so F'n incredible!)
Also, Thank you to Dave Cook, Bob Orilee, and the rest of K-Rock for making this happen.

F has a lot of exciting news so stay tuned for more updates SOON to come

We will notify everyone if this changes before then.
See you tomorrow!

F  IS GOING TO OZZFEST!!!

WOW!  It's been two days now and I still can't believe it!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone that voted for us!
You don't know how much all your support means to us.
We're eternally grateful to all of you for helping to make this dream come true.

It's just totally amazing how you guys spread the word to everyone.
...All the myspace banners and bulletins, all the forwarded text info's, friends of friends getting people they work with to vote.
The final vote total was around 85,000.  41,000 of those went to F!
That's almost half of all the votes!!
Even the DJ's at K-Rock were blown away by that!

And speaking of which, I definitely can't forget to thank those guys for putting this contest together.  To Bob Orilee, Dave Cook, and everyone down at 93.7 K-Rock, we can't thank you guys enough!

We'll post further details on the event as they become available.

Hola Gringo's and Gringa's!  Happy Cinco de Mayo!

If your like me, your probably gonna tear up some taco's and Corona's today.  Then wash it all down with some smooth tequilla.  Ah yeah...

Well, It's good to be back from New York City.  We had a F'n killer time up there, saw some kick @ss bands, and met some really cool people.

...and now here is where we give our thanks and shout outs to all our F'n Fans and friends that helped us on this trip.

Papa Biro, we can't thank you enough for letting us use your camper over the past weekend for NYC.  You don't know how much that helped us out.  Thank you!

Kassie and Annie, you guys are awesome beyond belief for flying out to see us!  I can't believe how ridiculously expensive cab fair was though.  I owe you guys big time!  Thank you!

Eric, Matt, & Triff, you guys still have 100% attendance ratio!
You guys haven't missed one show since we started over a year and 30+ shows later.

Grave Desire, thanks for making the trip with us.  You guys we're a blast to hang with!

Happy new years everyone!

Hope everyone is finally fully recovered from all the holiday partying and mayhem.
2005 was a great sophomore year for F (...as in Frank) and we wanna thank our friends and fans for all the love and support.

With that said about 2005, F has some big announcements and good news to start off 2006:

Let's see...where to start...
Well its official!  F (...as in Frank) will be competing in the 20th Annual Graffiti Rock Challenge!  This once a year prestigious showcase includes only 16 of Pittsburgh’s best and talented music acts.  Out of hundreds of submissions, F was one of those chosen this year to participate.

Those of us who were in ill Noise inc. have had the privilege of competing in past Graffiti Rock Challenges.  From my experience and wisdom, you need to have crowd participation to even stand a chance of winning this thing.
That's where the following favor comes in:

F (...as in Frank) needs your help!

If you’re reading this, this is your chance to be part of the action.
Without you we don't stand a chance in this battle of the bands.
So were asking all of you come out to the show and be as loud and crazy as you humanly can be!

The show will be held this year on Saturday, February 11th at Moondogs in Blawnox (click here for directions).
Tickets are $8.  You can contact me or any one of us via email for tickets in advance but hurry, you can definitely be sure they'll go fast!

In other big news:

F will be hitting up the "Big Apple" in April with our pals from One Step Away.
We'll be playing at Wild Spirits on the 21st and 22nd.
We're tossing around the idea of getting a bus and equipping that sum' bitch with a barrel.
We need to get a count first of everyone who's down with going.  so once again, if you’re interested in spending the weekend with us in New York City, drop us an email and let us know.

Don't forget, we have lots of other exciting shows lined up as well:
Be sure to check us out at the Long View Lounge in North Versailles on the 28th of this month and the Hard Rock Cafe again in April.

And last but not least.....T-Shirts!!!

We finally have shirts!!!

You can pick one of these fine looking T's for $10 at any upcoming show or drop us a line and we'll arrange to get you one.

(Gasp for air)
I think that about covers everything.

Peace out all you crazy mofo's!

-Dragon

P.S

Thanks to 105.9 the X for playing M.O.B again last Sunday!

ATTENTION EVERYONE:
Be sure to join us at the Long View Lounge in North Versailles (Behind Wal-Mart) this Saturday (11/26/05) for Ed's Retirement party.

We'll be joined by Mojo Filter and One Step Away.  We'll also be having some surprise guests join us on stage to relive some good 'ole nostalgia.  Don't miss this show and live with regret, be there!

11/21/05

Hello Kiddies.  Another fun show on our return visit to Peter's Pub this Saturday.  Thanks to everyone who stopped out and extra special thanks go to Eric, Trif, Bowen, and Tricia for helping us get all our gear out of there at the end of the night.  You don't know how much that helps us out.  Thanks

Alright, enough playing around...It's about time we got down to business and started adding content and making some upgrades to this site.  Be sure to check out our new media content.  I wanna give mad thanks to Eli for hooking us up with some wicked @ss pictures and also to Glen for filming our last couple of shows.

What's up party people!  Lot's of new and exciting news to talk about so I'll get right to it with no delays.  We have some good news and some bad news.  Let's start with the good.  First off, I just wanna say "WOW!".  The Hard Rock and Peter's Pub shows last week were just insane. I never expected to see that many people at Hard Rock on a Thursday night.  Thank you each and everyone of you that came down to see F and show your support for local music.  We also got to play with some kick @ss bands those nights.  One Step away, Grave Desire, and Katet (from Meadville).  I'm sure you'll be hearing (and seeing if you come out to some shows) a lot more of these guys in the next couple of months.

We're also going to be returning back to SoundScape Studios this month to throw down another six tracks.  We're excited about going back to record with Doug & Dave and We'll keep you posted on any updates.  Lots of new gigs have been added too so check out the 'shows' section of the site for more info.

And now the bad news.  On a sad note, after 10 plus years of playing, Ed "Ruffcut" Miller has announced his retirement from playing guitar and has decided to leave the band.  After a prominent career with such noteworthy local bands as Rival, FC5, ill Noise inc, and F (...as in Frank), Ed has decided to hang up his axe and pursue a career in smoking and Big Mac eating.  Lol, Just kiddin Eddie!  We love ya and you'll definitely be missed.

Ed has agreed to stay with us through the next couple of shows and the studio. Saturday November 26th at Long View Lounge in North Versailles will be Ed's last show. Don't miss this show people!  We can promise you that it'll be a very entertaining night full of many surprises! :-D

10/24/05

Hey everybody! Thank you all sooooo much for coming to the Hardrock Cafe show this past Thursday. We greatly appreciate it! All your support has helped us land a couple more future gigs there and that's exactly what we wanted....THANK YOU!!!!! Also, thanks to everybody at the Peter Pub show down in Oakland Saturday. We didn't know what to expect, but once again you all came through and made it another kick ass fuckin show. Before I sign off I need to let you know that F needs your help. F needs you all to call the radio stations (KROCK & THE X) and request our demo songs (House of Mirrors, M.O.B, NME, Mr.Deadface.) If you all take one minute out of your day to request these songs F's future would be so much brighter and future shows would be so much better!

Thanks again!

09/01/2005:

Greeting and Salutations.

Well, as of today, two of the cities major radio stations have the F (...as in Frank) demo in their possession.  Both 105.9 the X and 93.7-K Rock now have the CD and we need your help to get them to play it.  The X plays their local music on a segment called Edge of the X which airs Sunday 8pm-midnight.  Get them on the horn at 412-333-WXDX and tell them you need to hear something from F. If your a chick, they're probably going to ask you "who are you doin' in the band?".  Two suggestible replies would be either, (A): "your mother" or (B): "All of them, I'm a groupie".  If your a dude, they probably won't ask you but make it a point to tell them your sleeping with everyone in the band anyways.  lol.  Anyways, Thank you for your support  -Bartles & James....no, wait!  I mean....
-Dragon.

08/28/2005:

God D@mn!  I hope everyone had as good of a time tonight as I did.  I can't remember a funner show.  You people make all the work that goes into these shows totally worthwhile.  I started to panic around 9:30 when I saw a tumble weed roll by but as always our people never let us down.  We gotta thank The Twilight Dawn once again for playing with us on such short notice.  You guys F'n rule!  All you mofo's from Lifted, muchas gracious.  Yinz guys did a hell of a job with sound.  Can't wait to hear the new songs.

Individually I gotta congratulate Eric, Triff, and Bowen for perfect attendance to the last couple of shows.  It's totally appreciated.  Thanks to new comers Eli and Kassie.  Thanks also to Joe "Iron Meat Curtain Man" Michlovic & Kathy, Paul, Joe Mihalik, Steve Nitch (See you next Saturday at the White Hawk), Mote, Andy and Co., Shorty, Angie for referring The Twilight Dawn, and let's not forget about light technician extraordinaire JAKE Karlin:

Without you we're just some no-name band without lights.  With you, we're still some no-name band....but with cool lights.  D@mn, this feels like an award speech.  I'm going to bed.  If I forgot anyone, email me and inform me on what a thoughtless @ss I am.  Good night!
